arcenciel sorts waste at the Roumieh prison
arcenciel organized a waste sorting awareness campaign for the detainee’s at Roumieh prison on the 21st of January.
The sanitary, environmental and economic advantages of this sorting practice were thoroughly presented and discussed with the detainee’s. The social aspect was particularly developed; effectively, the sorting of recyclable waste, which are eventually collected and sold by arcenciel, will permit the financing of several social services pertaining to central needs in the prison and even outside it. This corresponds to arcenciels policy which consists of placing people in difficulty at the service of other people in difficulty. For starters, plastic bottles and caps are sorted out. This action will be extended to other types of recyclable waste.
